Annual School Health Check-Up Camp at Nirmala Rani School, Malleshwaram
Nirmala Rani School was established in 1954. It is a government aided school and is affiliated to State and Central Board of Secondary Education. The Department of Community Medicine, M S Ramaiah Medical College, has been conducting annual health check-ups at the school from the year 2012. This year it is been conducted from 27-01-2026 to 2-02-2026. The initiative aims to assess the general health status of students and identify common health issues early to support timely intervention. Students undergo systematic examinations including anthropometry measurements, and general physical examination. BP measurement of adolescent students is also done.
Special attention is given to identify Anaemia, Dental caries, Refractive errors, skin diseases & grades of Malnutrition. Based on findings, students received appropriate counselling and referral advice. Health education session will also be conducted. The event is currently on-going with active participation from students, teachers, and parents, strengthening the community-medical college partnership for school health improvement.
A team of one Assistant Professor or Senior Resident along with Two Postgraduates and Three interns and 1 Medico Social Worker was allocated daily for the health camp.
This activity is carried out under the guidance of Dr. Dinesh Rajaram Professor-Department of Community Medicine.
