Education Aims of the Program

Masters in Clinical Physiotherapy Aims

Contribute to the continued development of a student's clinical practice expertise by further developing their understanding, integration of theory and practice, their evaluation of practice, clinical reasoning, inter-professional approaches to health care delivery and patient centered care, reflection and clinical skills in order to meet the demands of advanced professional roles.

Develop an in-depth knowledge and understanding and the ability to reflect, critically evaluate the current best practice and apply to the area of Clinical Physiotherapy.

Critically evaluate and rigorously analyze the relevant literature, including research-based evidence and policy documents relating to Clinical Physiotherapy.

Recognition of the centrally of research and the evaluation of clinical outcomes in the development of professional knowledge and practice.

Contribute to the facilitation of the continued professional development and life long learning of clinical colleagues and the advancement of clinical knowledge, research and practice in the area of Clinical Physiotherapy (Neuromusculoskeletal, Neurological and Cardio-respiratory).

Produce a research-based dissertation in a topic area related to one of the three core areas of clinical physiotherapy and possibly present and publish findings to contribute to the growing body of knowledge in that specific area.

Awards: On completion of the full curriculum (180 Credits) an MSc in Clinical Physiotherapy will be awarded. Masters with Merit is awarded for an overall mean mark of 60 % but less that 70%
Masters with Distinction is awarded for an overall mean mark of 70 % or higher.
